Fellowship Training

As an academic institution, one of the major goals of the IEM is to train next generation of endocrinologists who will serve as competent clinicians as well as pioneer researchers in the field of endocrinology and metabolism. The training course consists of a two year program of clinical education as well as clinical research experience. During the first year, Fellows works under supervision of expert faculties in specific outpatient clinics and inpatient service.

Clinical training cover all aspects of endocrinology and metabolism and fellows have the responsibility to contribute to the educational program of medical students and residents. Our outpatient clinics is specified for various endocrine disorders such as diabetes, pituitary, PCOS, thyroid, puberty and growth disorders. They also have an opportunity to gain experience in fine needle aspiration of thyroid nodules in a weekly basis teaching clinic.

The second year is mainly focused on endocrine related research programs. Fellows are expected to complete at least one qualified research project, present their work in national conferences, and publish the results in high impact journals. During their research activities they are supported and supervised by expert mentors.
