The Institute of Endocrinology and Metabolism (IEM) is one of the major medical institutes established in 1971 in Tehran, Iran. The center is affiliated to Iran University of Medical Sciences (IUMS). The main research activities are focused on clinical aspects of endocrine and metabolic disorders as well as patient education and empowerment.
IEM is also responsible for implementing clinical endocrinology educational program of undergraduate and postgraduate students.
Mission
The mission of IEM is to promote high quality research and training in the field of endocrinology, diabetes and metabolic disorders in order to improve patients' lives, and to develop competent health care professionals.
Our goals include:
Training future doctors as critical thinkers, problem solvers, and high quality researchers.
Supporting the innovative research in the areas of diabetes, pituitary tumors, obesity, osteoporosis, and metabolic disorders.
Collaborating with other research centers, both nationally and internationally, to conduct world class research in the field of non-communicable disorders.
